Camera for a noob trying to shoot sports and car!

Hey guys and gals I am looking to get into a little photography and shooting some cars and wakeboarding, mountain biking, and other stuff. I am looking to stay under $400-450. I don't know a lot about photography so anything is greatly apreciated! No advice is dumb to me lol. Oh I have a samsung digimax a7 any comments on that?

Sports shooting bare minimums = a dSLR, decent zoom (200mm @ least), and reasonably fast glass. My advice: start saving up. You can get an okay dSLR body for $400 (a new D40 or equivalent Canon, or a slightly better used one if you get lucky) and you can might be a able to root up a 3rd party xx-200mm f/2.8 and keep it under $600.
