Today I'm using a 40D with 135/2.

I want better autofocus and noise performance. I'm waiting for the 7Dmk2. But is it the right choice?

I need around 200mm on a full-frame body (135x1,6). So I don't think 5Dmk3 is a good option and 1DX is too expensive. Canon 200/2 is not cheap either.

For lens I would say the best bet is the 70-200L f2.8 and likely I'd still pair it with the 5DIII (Yep close to $6000).

But if you're looking for a 1.6 crop factor with a 135mm or so lens then the 7DII is the likely best choice. Until the reviews are fully out and people have it in their hands I doubt we will know the true low-light performance, but bottom line the 7DII will without a doubt surpass the original 7D and the 70D, so for crop factor with good AF performance for sports it is the way to go.

Thanks!

Yeah it feels like there's not so many options. Maybe a 1dmk4 with old AF-system and I don't know how good low-light performance.

But it feels like a 7Dmk2 gonna give me more bang for the buck.

With 70-200 I need to use higher ISO. So I don't get so much advantage with a 5Dmk3. Also lower FPS.
