Camera Lens.......

I'm looking for a High Power Zoom Lens as I have posted in another thread. I have been searching and found one that I am interested in.

AF-S DX VR Zoom-NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED

They offer it with and without the VR (Vibration Reduction)

Is the VR worth the price difference? or is it worth it at all"?

Also, I want to TRY to keep my budget under 500 and then get the 900 one someone showed me early.

Looking something compact but high power. I don't plan on looking across a football field...YET...lol
