Camera malfunction

This is what happens when your cheap crappy camera starts to malfunction. My husband says it looks like the chip is responding to UV light since the pattern inside the petals (near the center of the flower) shows up. This can't be seen with the naked eye. However he said it could be that the green light isn't intense enough to activate the CCD well enough. Anyway... it's untouched and I know its not the best picture, and its pretty blurry but I really like the shot because of the weird colors. The camera only does this in this light and on these particular flowers and no others in the entire garden. My Canon doesn't take it like this at all.

Bluebells have this effect on film but I have never seen it since going digital.
 
Can you use filters on your cheap camera? If so, try taking this shot with a UV filter and see what happens.
 
No filters (unless I rig something). It was taken with a Kodak Easy Share. lol
 
I don't know how I deleted it I wasn't trying to get rid of it. Here's another shot of the flowers.
