Camera makes a clicking noise while focusing , is that normal

I don't know if it ever clicked while auto focusing before, but it is now. Is that normal? I'm not too worried because I just recently used it on auto so maybe it does it then and only then.
 
A clicking noise while focusing may be a image stabilizing system at work.

But without the camera make & model it's hard to make an informed guess.
 
Sounds to me like it is normal, unless it isn't.
 
OS/IS/VR tends to be more a whirring than a clicking noise; however if you've a lens with noisier AF motors and you're using continuous AF mode you might hear a slight clicking as the lens shifts back and forth very quickly between two very close focusing points as the camera keeps adjusting the focus (esp if you or the subject is moving)
