This is camping? There are chairs.... Do you think James Whittaker brought chairs and his drum set!

if you look closely in the first picture, there's a tent. The idea is that I'm merging my everday life of music with the outdoors

Cute idea. The guitar and tent are a bit lost in the first one, and the charis are super-centered, so I don't think it exactly worked. (I didn't even notice the guitar)

I think the second one has overall more potential, but it appears a bit angled... particularly interesting since I think even when you level the horizon, that chair will still be lopsided.

Is that a stick in the sand to the right of the chair? Almost looks like sensor dust.

I think I might have tried a few different shots... different angles... possibly got down lower... tried to position the guitar in a few ways such as to make it a bit more separated from the chair... maybe play with the sun and the guitar more... maybe try to get the sun on one side of the frame and the chair/guitar on the other (so you have more to look at over the whole frame- the left hand side is kinda dead)... might be interesting to separate the chair and the guitar entirely as well...

    etc.

    :)

    Neat idea!

The latest trend in approaching this type of shot is a slightly side angle and the use of a large camping "flash" light to provide fill. It provides the same kind of warm light as the setting sun and with care, can look natural.

 Hey, camping has changed. RVs from $20,000 to $60,000 and more are now mainstream. RV "buses" are at $100,000 or more.
