Can somebody help me with a lighting issue?

the background needs to be lit seperately to make it white it also needs about two stops more light than the subject, ex: backdrop f22, evenly lit, subject lit at f11, shoot at f11. H

Aye - well... I din't go into all the phototonic lumens and wave theory etc.
I din't even mention the inverse square law...
Chic don't say what is inside the small softbox - nor what's firing into the umbrella - so I figure he/she wants a practical rather than a scientific response... He/She 'd need an incident lightmeter to achieve 2:1 ratios.
Or a few test shots...
Or how to repair in PP...
What Chic needs is a bit more grounding in lighting...
Y'know - Key, Fill, Backlight, Hairlight
I ferget now - but there is a good site... erm.. strobist...
Yeah - Strobist - tell him/her to google "strobist"...
BTW, Flash - I'm from Sunderland originally - where we makkem and takkem...
Oh - And "separately" has 2 'a's" and 1 'e'...
