Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Could someone take this photo and turn it into an amazing black and white for me and let me know what you did to accomplish the end result? I love black and white but can't seem to get this right. Thanks so much in advance.

Done with photoscape

Gamma Bright brought down to 0.95
Contrast brought up to 61
Saturation brought down -255 (which gave it the black and white look)
And then the black and white button which darkened it a tad

I gave it a try. I do not know if this is what you are looking for.

I used the black and white conversion tool in CS3 leaving auto settings.
Boosted the brightness and contrast quite a bit.
Used the shadow/highlight tool to recover some shadows.
slight noise reduction
added a little vignette.

Ok,

1. Layer>duplicate layer
2. Filter>blur>gaussian blur at 4.0 pixels
3. layer>Layer mask>hide all
4. with a white brush set at 40-50% opacity and 10-15% flow paint on the layer mask any areas you want smooth avoiding any defined edges such as face outline, nostrils, lips. I also smoothed the arms and chest some. I did the same for the grass just to take it out of focus some I did this quickly so it isn't as detailed as I normally would do. (all purely preference)
5. layer>new adjustment layer>curves (adjust until you have it how you want it. I do mine a little brighter than I would color photos.
6. layer>new adjustment layer>black and white

That's it.

Not a Problem. Anytime.

I forgot...I added you a pretty frame to it...just for the heck of it. lol

Gave it a try. I blended the red and green channels, reduced contrast slightly in the midtones (to reduce the shadows on the face), and then applied an unsharp mask with radius=1 and threshold set to 5.
