Canon 17-40 L f/4

    Can others edit my Photos:

    Can some of you who own this lens please comment on how you rate it as far as IQ, sharpness, color, contrast etc..

    I'm thinking of picking this up for my 30D for the fall colors in New England that will be taking place in a couple weeks.

    I use it on 35mm film and sensor and I am quite happy with it. Corner sharpness is not too convincing at f/4, but quickly improves if stopped down a bit. If you use an aps-c sensor, corner sharpness might not be a problem for you anyway.

    I got my copy adjusted by Canon though. I heard there are some samples of this lens out there which are not so well behaved as mine.

    I have always heard good things about this lens. The sharpness & contrast are on par with most L lenses (very good) and I've heard from several people who say that this lens produces some of the best colors.
