I've been having some troubles with my Canon 20D, and at first thought the batteries were fried, so ordered new ones. In the meantime, I borrowed my professor's charger and one of her batteries, and charged it. I tried it in my camera, but as usual, it only stayed on for a second, flashed a low battery light, and died. Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Welcome to the forum.

The first thing I would look at, are the battery contacts. Look down into the battery compartment as see if there is anything on the contacts. Try cleaning them (a pencil eraser works well).

If that doesn't work, you should probably consider sending it into a Canon service centre. They will take a look at it and then get back to you with an estimate for how much it will cost to fix.
