Canon 50mm F/1.4 Lens Demonstration MOVIE

Interesting. A subject with a more differentiated background that slowly comes into focus might have proven to be a better example.

For instance, all that porn being advertised could come temptingly into focus as you gain DOF with the dried leaf in the foreground.

Looking at this, I bet she STILL has no idea. Not really the best example you could have done. To demonstrate aperture, one needs a bigger depth of field to play with.

Set that same leaf on a table with a bowl 1-2 feet behind it, THEN do your shots, and at least she will see something other than some minor blur that to a newbie looks like a badly focused shot... lol

DOF is best displayed with 2 objects to show off the bokeh of a lens:

As for that porn.. what porn? Amazing what a good pop-up blocker does... lol.

Looks a little like some weak attempt at porn-vertizing, I believe.

This looked like good tasteful porn. I didn't follow it all the way because it required some bogus membership sign-up (probably a phishing expedition anyway) but none of that amateur stuff - this actually had lighting! And shot composition! Probably not plot, but that would be the Holy Grail anyway... Heck, they don't even have plot in Hollywood anymore...

The holy grail of porn... blatant sex AND a plot... I think thats asking a lot of some people. lmao!

I'm confused, I'm not seeing this porn but I did notice the hosting site is ad supported.

Thanks JerryPH, appreciate your feedback.

I'd just suggest a change of host. flickr supports pics and video... and is not ad driven. ;)

Photobucket wouldn't take my swf file, I'm waiting for youtube to examine and approve my video, I'll move it there when it's approved.

My ex-girlfriend could never understand buying a lens that doesn't zoom... Well here is why.

I don't get it... What is it that this lens does? It increases or decreases the aperture like a zoom lens or something? Uhh.. Huh? What lens doesn't do that? Err, what?

EDIT - Oh, you're saying that a prime is better and these images are supposed to be the proof? OK.. I see. Maybe. :D

primes are better because they're faster? and produce a shallower DOF? not always. faster, mostly (but there are 1.4 zooms for cinema ;)).
someone should make an example like this with a macro, and or PC/TS lens. I would.. but I don't have either.
