Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I have just bought a canon rebel xs. I would like to use some sort of lighting...can anyone please tell me where to start?

What exactly are you looking for? Do you just want a flash to stick on the hot shoe? Are you looking for a full studio setup? Or something in between? When you say some sort of lighting, that is an incredibly broad subject.

If you just want a flash, the 430 EXII flash is a great flash that's reasonably priced. You can get a 580 EX for a bit more if you want something with a few more bells and whistles.

As u can tell I am very new to this...lol...anyway yes I want studio set up lighting. I want to be able to take it with me when I go to friends house to photograph their children.

:lmao:

Good point though. ^^^ That is the first light source you should learn to use.

But, if you want light on command, indoors - the Sun won't always work.

First of all... Budget?

That will be a huge factor in any recommendations we can make.
