Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 - At what aperture is it sharpest?

    As the title says; at what aperture would you say the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM ​lens is sharpest?

    Probably around 2.8 - 5.6

    It's a good bet that F8 is going to be near the sweet spot of most lenses.
    Many people will also say that the sweet spot starts at about 1 or two stops down from wide open.

    So, F4 to F5.6 would be my guess for this lens...and it sounds like the tests will prove that.

    Mine is very sharp from f2.8 to f11 but I don't hesitate to use it wide open it will produce a dreamy feel and is still consideribly sharp but will introduce some CA.
