I have it, its quite a soft lens, so im getting rid of it in favour of the 70-200 F4 L

I was thinking of getting the L, but I suppose it would be a bit too much of a cash outlay, considering how young into photography I am.

On the bright side, I just got, from ebay,

    A Canon EF55-200mm 4.5-5.6 ll Usm lens

    And a Cannon 50mm f1.8 MK 1 lens

For a total of 160 quid. Not bad at all.

Not terrible lens however not great. The lens is slow being a 4.5 at the wide end, image quality soft on edges and 55-200 is not a real useful zoom range its not sure if it wants to be a standard or telephoto zoom. "I've owned one" The positives are that its sharp in the middle, cheap in price and has USM. May I suggest a EF 75-300 USM or a EF 100-300 USM these lens are better all the way around in my opinion. If you are not looking to spend $$$ on professional L glass
