Before I spent big bucks on another body, I'd have a few very nice lenses.

Blair has already budgeted $$$ outside of this body purchase to upgrade his lenses. In consideration includes 100-400mm L and/or 400 prime.

BTW... 100-400mm is a great lens.

Thanks usayit and yes I have budgeted for several lenses all L series as well as the body.

I've heard the 100-400 is a bit soft at 400.........True?

I've owned 2 100-400's

First one I had as an original one and its was as sharp as any lens I've seen, but it got a bit too wet.

Second one I had wasn't as sharp but was still a good lens, but I sold it and got a 70-200mm F2.8 which I used with a mkII extender and I'm getting better results than any of the 100-400s I had
