I recieved this camera as a x-mas gift this year. I am curious what people think about the camera in general? Is it a good camera to start learning photgraphy? What tripod do I buy to go with my camera?:hail:

Is this the film version? or the Digital Rebel?

Either way, it's a great camera. 'Rebel' is the name for the whole line of Canon's entry level SLR cameras. They are made to be small, light and easy to use...but that doesn't mean they can't take photos as well as the top of the line cameras. Like all other EOS cameras, the Rebel cameras are compatible with all of Canon's EF lenses, which includes some of the best lenses in the world of photography.

I think it's a perfect camera to start learning photography with. Not only is it capable, but the camera and lenses will be compatible with more advanced Canon equipment if and when you decide to upgrade.
