Canon Filters

Who makes Canon's filters for them? I would assume they would outsource them and stick their name on it, rather than develop an entirely new line.
 
no idea. but since they do lenses, which also have coatings and all, it should be fairly simple for them to do filters as well. most of the technology they need they have in-house.
 
filters are probably popped out as easily as hoods and lens caps.

well, it is not that easy to get a real neutral density filter, or a good polarizer.

but canon filters are not really high-end as far as I think. They are OK for UV-filters.
 
I presume they make it themselves soley for the fact that they have the capacity to do so already. Especially the drop-in filters for the super-telephotos.
