Canon G5x

I wanted to enter a photography contest but alas I did not have a Canon Camera.
I wrote to Canon asking for a 5D class camera...but they sent me this instead: the Powershot G5x

a 1" sensor compact camera.
Let's see how it goes.

I like this photo. It entertains me greatly.

Ok. Let's see if a semi-skilled ape can pull off a convincing fashion shoot with just a stylist (no model because this was just mucking around) and a Point&Shoot camera (the G5x)

No light modifiers, no reflectors, no assistants, no makeup artist or models...just me and my favourite stylist.

Likes:
Great lens and decent low light peformance.
Sensible ergonomics.
Accessible pricing (CAD 1,000)
Usable battery life
articulating LCD and touch screen

Dislikes:
VERY slow continuous mode in RAW
silly menu system
slow autofocus

Verdict:
I really really like it.
Definitely on my shortlist for a vacation camera.

It's no Sony RX1R II but it's also not CAD 4800.
