Canon lens deciphering

L stands for Luxury. You get what you pay for.

I almost exclusively use L glass with my Canons, but I do not consider that luxury. It would be luxury if I had leather pouches with gold and silver ornaments for them, though.

Luxury is just the wrong term for tools (which lenses are).

Its not my opinion that L stands for Luxury. I agree with you, but that word is what Canon uses to describe their L lens.

OK, with you saying you get what you pay for it sounded like stating an opinion ;)

Does Canon really say luxury? They never used that term when talking to me ... and I never saw it written either. But then again I might not have looked in the right places ;)

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like that!
I did read it in a Canon workbook. I guess it's how they describe it.

Alex, I LOOOOVE your Egypt shots!!

thanks :)

but that is just travel photography, nothing more ;)

Doesn't mean you should discount it. Good photography is good photography. ;)

Just saying that I have done better things, just they are not on my webpage ;)

But thanks anyway :)

Tools can be luxurious. And vice versa. Just my $.02
