Canon loading photo issue

Hey everyone,
I have a canon 5d and im having issues loading my photos to my computer with the usb. FOr some reason its just not recognizing it. Any ideas?

Tethering the camera is something I seldom do. When you disconnect it, it has to be in the correct order?

Have you loaded the canon software from the CD?

yea depending on the camera (i.e. first 5D) you are required to load the "drivers" from the cd that came with the camera

There are TWO different modes the camera can be set to in the menu. I cannot recall what they are named, but again,there are two options, and the proper one must be set in the Custom Functions Menu. Oh heck, I will dig the camera out and check it out first hand for you.
**MMMKAY, IN THE YELLOW-ORANGE MENU section, six clicks up from the bottom, there are two options: Print/PTP, and the second one, PC Connect. Print/PTP is for printing directly from the camera, while I believe that PC Connect is the setting you need to transfer files directly from the 5D to a computer via USB cable.
