Canon Powershot S5 IS

Ok, so I'm new to this forum and thought I would get an opinion from some of you. I own a Canon Powershot S5 IS and was wondering if any of you had any experience with this camera. I know mine is 3 years old and they now have the SX20 that has replaced mine. I'm the 2nd owner and have only owned it for about a year and am in love so far... but would like to start possibly taking pictures for family and friends that are semi professional quality pictures. I know a lot, if not most of it has to do with the person holding the camera, but don't want to try to kill myself trying to do the impossible if my camera isn't capable of it. So... please anyone feel free to dive right in and give me thought/opinions if you have them...
