Buddy of mine is getting rid of his Canon Rebel XT. Anybody here use one? I've read great reviews and for the $200 he's asking for the body it may be worth it. The camera is practically new and clean as a whistle.

If I did purchase it I thought I'd throw the Canon 17-40 f/4L on it and use it alongside my D80 or let my wife play around with it.

    Any thoughts?

Yeah, get it! for $200 and like you say "almost new"- sounds like the perfect deal....

This lens is of course awesome but mabye a little limited (1.6 crop factor)...just depends on what you need...

but a definitely YES for the body! enjoy...

I had one before I upgraded to my 30D. They are a great little camera and for $200 I would snatch it up quick. I sold mine for twice that much about 5 months ago.
