    Please see this lens here:

    Canon | Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-105mm | 6469A005 | B&H

Is this really a wide-angle lens? B&H is the only retailer calling this a wide-angle that I can see. Everyone else is just calling it a telephoto. Please enlighten me if you know! Thanks!

less than about 35mm is called wide angle
    about 50mm is "standard"
more than about 70mm is called telephoto

This lens covers all three ranges... it might be best described as a "standard zoom"

basically the same I was thought, only anything under 50 was wide angle, and anything over 50 was tele. And of course 50 being standard (close to what the human eye sees)
