Canon's 24-105 f/4L Recall.

    Saw this on another forum so I thought I'd put it here since I can't spot it.

    They're recalling all 24-105 f/4L lenses with UT # less than 1000. (which apparently can be found on the back of the lens).

    The problem they're correcting is excess flare.

    I actually think taht has been out for quite some time. The first few batches they created, as you stated, had excessive lens flare and any newer lenses have been manufactured correctly. But always a good reminder :)

    yes, that is an old story.
    today'S 24-105 Ls are still prone to flare compared to some other lenses, but it is nothing in comparison with those first batches ans I understand ;)
