I think these are tent caterpillars...I have a bunch of photos from last spring of them emerging from their tent.

U-Turn! I think it's amusing to see them follow out a limb to it's dead end then flail about looking for something to stick to.

These 2 look remarkably like a dog gnawing on a bone to me
