We've got one at the store and we 0play with it all the time. It's a cool camera, at the 1200 fps video, the flourecent lights in the store flicker really slow in playback.

BTW, I think the only thing it's missing is interchangeable lenses. It would be the perfect camera if I could put nice glass in from of it! D3... Ha! I'm getting the casio!

Why do these manufacturers always pull their punches??

Oh man, you're kidding right? Actually the 1200fps at that small size isn't useful but the 300fps (1/10 speed) slow motion is very very useful. Not to mention just a whole bunch of fun! Too bad there isn't 150 or 200 fps at 1080i

this is a very cool camera... I've got the nikon dx3 all the toys but this is cool - mostly for the 60 fps - nikon will do 9fps.

I went to a civil war reenactment and managed to get the canons going off... very cool.. you can specify pre record, so as not to miss shots.. so if what you want is to catch that action shot i know of no other way..

"No other way" is a little extreme.... considering that people have been catching action shots since film, even before the advent of autofocus.

A canon firing? Don't you need a laser circuit to trigger a a shot like that?

I suppose you could use a trigger off of a decibel meter. Mine has a trigger - I suppose I could use it for that. I'd probable still have to add a delay though. Sounds really tough to me.

I'm clearly out of my general scope of knowledge here, but I would imagine that if you knew when they were going to fire and you had 60 frames to choose from in that split second, one of them would come out perfect.

60fps is going to be helpful with capturing a cannon firing. Definitely.

But another poster said that this camera was the only "way to catch action shots"... and I'm saying that's not so. If it was we wouldn't have old baseball photos from the 1930s.
