I have had my camera 6 months (my first digital) now and virtually no experience with photography (other than point and shoot). I am trying to get a hold on how to shoot christmas lights and wondered if you all could take a moment and look at these shots and offer some suggestions for improvement. Thanks much. (No PP was done on these, just need suggestions on technique thanks)

There's not much you can do with these. On those sony's can you change the focal length while the shutter is open? beucase that's what I do when I take shots of christmas lights.

Next time you shoot chrsimas lights, i suggest zooming while the shutter is open if possible on your sony. that way, you can get shots like this:

Thanks for the reply (sorry it took me so long to get back with you). I can't do that with the H series cameras. It does look like a pretty neat effect. I'm afraid im stuck with boring light shots, lol.
