Yes I am a smartarse by avoiding Christmas with the family and buggering off to five star luxury somewhere else. But I did take pictures!

Totally charming view from your hotel room, malteaser :). You couldn't avoid the Christmas trees, only did they come up yellow and in crane shape, but... ;)

Two very interesting perspectives of the Ferris wheel. Were exactly were you?

Very obviously you had lovely winter weather which gives this nice light!

LaFoto: You're right, the weather was superb. I'm not used to having such great skies, we certainly don't get them that often here in England.

As for the Ferris Wheel - that was in Brussels, near Grand Place. There was a lovely Christmas market leading up to it, and I wanted to capture the idea of height and anticipation while I waited to go on it. It's a lot higher up there!

I really like 2, 3& 4. I agree with La Foto, good perspective for the ferris wheel. Something about the atmosphere of #4 drew me in, it looks almost misty or hazy. Nice capture!

Thanks Alison! Pic 4 was taken fairly early on a very cold, misty but sunny morning in Bruge. I loved how the mist made everything look so... mysterious (excuse the terrible pun!). I was lucky to get that shot, since there were a lot of people milling around.

So that is Bruges, like I thought! :) That's one pretty place, isn't it?

Yeah, Bruge is absolutely beautiful. And the place I'm most likely to move to. Anywhere with that number of chocolate shops is great in my book!
