Clouds

The clouds looked pretty epic this past weekend. I took these 2 shots, one in portrait the other landscape, right out of my apartment balcony. Taken with my Sony A7ii with Yashica ML 50mm f1.7. Too much contrast? Should I have photoshopped the flare out? I edited these in Lightroom 5 with VSCO preset adjusted to my preference. Comments / Criticism welcomed. Give it to me harsh.

I like the dramatic nature of these which is pretty nice. But without much of anything else in the photo they are just clouds. I think you need a point of interest in these shots. Traditonally it would be some lead in foreground with a focal point in the mid ground, ideally with some nice distance elements and the dramatic sky.
