You accomplished the selective color well but it doesn't really accomplish anything in the picture.
Why draw attention to a featureless towel?

to him the towel represents who he is, i live in the bad part of town, if you know what i mean.. lol

Oh, I get it.
IMO, the problem is that the picture isn't significant unless the viewer knows the link and then the picture doesn't say anything beyond that - he's in a gang but no menace, no drama.
