    You know even with the overxposed areas of the neck I like the style of this shot. Colours are vibrant and eye contact is good - looks that the sharp point is also righ on the eye :)

    Thanks, I have a shot that is one stop below this one, but the feather detail disappeared. The sun was very low so there wasn't much I could do about it, except go swimming with it. :)

    yah in those conditions about the only thing you could try is expose for the highlights and try using flash (though for birds chances are you would need a flash extender or better beamer attachment to give the flash more range).
    I have been wanting to experiment with a polarizer in harsher lighting, but the sun - its hiding currently :(
