Complete newbie at photography... Just picked up a Nikon D40x

I just ordered my Nikon D40x yesterday...

That package to be specific, although I did alter it a bit... The seller removed the tabletop tripod & card reader.

He then gave me glass lens filters instead of plastic & he also gave me an extra longer lasting battery.

All for $699.99 EVEN Shipped.

I'm very excited for it... I have never went DSLR before, just my simple point and shoot Canon SD600... Here are some shots I took with my SD600... Will be posting up shots with my D40x as soon as it comes.

I'm hope I can do a lot better with the D40x.
