critique a picture of me edited?

an edited pic of me.
i just want an all round opinion as i do not know enough about the techniques of photography and editing to actually ask on something specifically...hopefully some day i will!

I'd kinda like to see the original, unedited. It'd be easier to comment on your photography versus your editing that way.

These kind of shots are usually more effective with no see- able background. The carpet in the background is the object in focus in the shot and not your face. I dont know if that was what you intendent for the shot, but it would be better if your face is sharper. Good idea of making the photo b&w- gives it a 'sad' (is this the right word?) feel. I think if you do this again, focus on your face try lighting only your face. Same look + same feel = great shot!
