critique?

the flower is recent... i was out in okinawa and bored.. i have several shots like this one, dont know if i should change the way i do these shots?

the kid is just this really great kid i worked with last summer - he is a special needs child and i just saw this yearning in him that day.. curious if i only saw that because i know him or if the picture did it any justice

Flower looks awesome, the kid pic looks kinda hazy....but still a decent shot.
