Have any of you had an issue with the Shutter sticking open?

It takes the photo like normal, displays an error, and i have to hit the release again before I can take another shot.

It's sporadic at the moment, but started about a week ago.

Happens in both Shutter priority, and aperture priority.

I guess being a consumer camera, the shutter life might not be all that good.

Maybe I should just send it back to Nikon, and have them take a look at it?

Any help is appreciated

ever touched the shutter?

something when wrong when cleaning the sensors?

shutters can get stuck, had the problem myself... but they can also be replaced.... costs around 200 on a 35mm film camera if I remember right

Thanks Alex,

I don't think I've ever touched it, unless it was just incidental contact.

I'm not sure to be honest. It's really sporadic, and I think it was several months ago the last I cleaned my sensor.

Guess I should send it in, and get it checked to be on the safe side.
It will be like having a limb severed until it's return

if it is still on warranty ... send it in , yes!!! I know, having no camera is a pain! but you will appreciate photography even more when it returns :)

It went out of Factory warranty last Thursday. I did purchase a Mack warranty, so that is the route I'm going for repair.

Wish me luck
