I guess I don't understand what you are saying.

Eric, notice how soft the seed head is at the perimeter against the sky. If that was sharp rather than the close part, the pic would have much more impact.

I agree with Ron, some sharper focusing on the perimeter may make the image a little better, but I really like what you have already as well.

I know you did a macro show, but did you use a macro lense on a slr, or did you use super macro with a point shoot?

I used my kit lens with my D90 then cropped it tight.
