Dark photo printing!!!! Please help

Hi,

I am trying to print out some photos that I took for a scrapbook I am doing but when I come to print them they are coming out a lot darker than on my screen. In some pictures this is ok. I am trying to print a picture of a sunset and of one during a vivid bright blue sky. They both still look good but not as good as on the screen.

I have a canon MP600 and am using HP Premium Plus Photo Paper.

Can anybody suggest anything???

You can't really be sure of anything unless your monitor is calibrated. The best way is with a proper calibration device like the Color Vision Spyder.

If you are not all that concerned about accuracy...then just adjust your image to be brighter than you think it needs to be, and it should be lighter on the print.

Do you have the proper paper profile selected in your printer settings? I've found that I get better results using Canon paper in my Canon Printer (I tried some cheap 'store brand' paper and it was terrible).
