For the past 6 months I haven't had a chance to go out and take pictures because of school. So, I finally had the chance to go to the park right in the city. I'm still new and I'm trying to get used to composition, lighting, etc. Let me know what you think. Any comments help, I'm still learning!

7.Old Huge tree that was completely carved with people's names and initials.
I tried to get a better picture that covered it all, but this doesn't give justice to it.

BTW these were all shot with my D80 and 18-55 kit lens or 50 f/1.8

I like 1 & 3 a lot. The angle on one gives a great perspective. It looks very tranquil. The blurring on #2 makes it a bit hard for me to focus on. Maybe if the flower in the front was a bit more saturated it would stand out more? (This is just a personal opinion thing, not at all technical advice) Looks like a really awesome park!

Thanks for the advice. Now that I look at it, #2 is hard to focus on because the flower blends in with the blurry background. Maybe there's a way to make it standout more.Anything else?

A few too many to comment on, but you have a nice eye. I like a lot of these.

Thanks again. I'm on a quest to find pictures that capture the essence of Richmond Virginia. This was my first location which was Maymont park. I'm planning on going to all the places that show Richmond. If you were to pick 2 or 3 pictures from this set, which would it be?
