The seconds versions are a lot better. The other ones were just too bright for night photos.

Yeah, thanks, I looked at other pics online and seems like the monument is the tough part getting details, and seem to be more bright white than others around (capitol, memorials, white house, etc)

BTW I have another thread posted "DC Shots 2" check those pix out too

those look a lot better did you just edit them or do you live close to dc so you can go there and take them again?

I live close but it was another shot. Since I'm a beginner, I take as many possible in different setttings then I play with the RAW files after I come home. Some pix are probably overexposed because beside some of my mistakes using the wronf settings, I also brightened them after PP for the look. Maybe something not alot of people are liking....
