Dead tree. c/c please!

I took this picture on a day trip to some nearby mountains. Critique and comment please!

The angle is interesting, and I'm thinking BW is probably better than colour. Exposure seems nice as well.

THe subject isn't that interesting though. For something called "dead tree", I would expect to get way more a feeling of death or dying than this tree does for me.

The other trees in the area aren't adding much to the image either. If you had a truely dead tree, playing it between some lives one would of been interesting.

Technically, a good image. Artistically, missing some for me.
