Death Valley, Early Morning..

By 7 am in the Desert, the power of the Sun is almost too much........... by 9 am, with temperatures soaring to 110f., it's not a place to hike into the barren badlands..........

Here is a 7 am shot of the classic Manly Beacon from Zabriskie Point........ Always a great Site...

And turning for a look to the southwest...........'

Both are really nice, but I prefer the second to the first, even though the colours are less intense. But I love the "sculpture" work the low light (and its shadows) do to the (already well "sculptured") countryside here!
