Death Valley II

We made the drive towards Death Valley today. We went and spent some time walking around Scotty's Castle. That's where most of the pictures came from. The couple landscapes and the animals were on the way there. Lots of pics, so I'm gonna post 'landscapes' in part one and 'portraits' in part two.

Again, there are who knows how many photos of this place out there, so I tried to get some different angles.

1 Staircase going up to the clock tower

2 Outside the power house (above is directly left of entrance in this photo)

3 Hand carved gate ornaments

4 View from the ampitheatre

5 Gates of the original entrance to the castle

6 Saw lots of these guys on the way back home but I couldn't get them to stop and pose for me

#1 really rocks! And I like the last one too. Looks like the spidey stops just to pose for you and continue with a long journey ahead :lol:

Very impressive series, and I like the points of view you chose for your photos of Scotty's Castle, but what I like most is the close-up of the gates with this crisp presentation of texture of both wood and metal.

And the DOF in the spider-on-the-road photo is perfect
