as some of u already know, i picked up a D80. i want to sell my D40 but i do not know if i should sell the kit lens(18-55mm) and a 55-200mm VR with it or keep those and sell my 18-135mm that came with my D80.

    thanks,
    marcus

Sell them all and get something better than any of them.

Those are all perfectly good lenses so no real need to sell. If you sold one, I'd let go of the 18-55 (about $60-70 used) and use that to fund a 50mm f/1.8D :)

+1 I love my 50mm. It has opened me up to photographs in low light situations that I would not have otherwise been able to take without a flash. If you did sell them all, you could use the money to fund a 18-200vr though.

i already have the 50mm lens and i also love it. that is the main reason why i picked up the D80. i was buying the lens from ritz and the salesperson let me try it on a D80 demo they had and i fell in love lol. i am just gong to keep my 18-135 because i love the sharp pictures it takes and save my money for the 70-300mm AF-s lensNikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR AF-S

The 70-300VR is a nice lens, but the 55-200VR is no slouch either. I had a 55-200 (non VR) and optically it was great, but I really wanted the extra 100mm and VR.
