I had to share this. Was out in the forest shooting birds and this guy came up and decided to check out the tripod. Figured most everyone here would get a kick out of it.
 
Excellent work. That just goes to show how curious wild critters can be of something out of place in their territory.
 
Very nice! Ive actually had a bird land on my head while shooting. It was odd.

Were you very close to the tripod at the time or had you left it someway behind? The deer certainly is coming very close to new things in the environment!

How far were you from the deer?

At the time of this shot maybe 6-8 feet. He actually started down the path and walked past me while I was shooting some birds. I should note however that although these are wild deer, by typical country/open land standards they're down right tame. Call em "city" deer...they generally don't care about people especially when said people say "Aww how cute! Have some food!" If they're not being fed they typically move away if you approach closer than about 5-10'.
