Dennis Hopper has died and not one thread about him when we had one about Gary Coleman...

What the hell did Gary Coleman do for the art community?

Dennis was not only an art collector, he was an artist. A painter, a sculptor, and, yes, a photographer. He was also instrumental in bringing the west coast (California, mostly) art community to be taken seriously compared to the NY art scene when so few people thought there was any art worth talking about west of NYC.

    Dennis, RIP!

    RIP Dennis Hopper.

No need to insult Gary Coleman.

Gary Coleman was actually a respected Shakespearean actor within the world of theatre. His portrayal of Othello along side the great Sir Laurence Olivier is legendary amongst his fellow thespians.

Yea I was shocked about his death as you were. It's quite curious how many key celebrities and figures are passing away lately
