Photos OK to edit
i have seen these 2 topics mentioned in places but am not sure of the difference?
What software would I need for each? I am on a Pc mostly.
Also, my Nikon D7000 I believe can do some time lapse without extra equipment, I was going to try it soon but any insight is helpful.

The D7000 has a built-in intervalometer that is used to make time lapse sequences of photos.
See pages 152-158 of the D7000 user manual.

Then you can use any slideshow application to show the stills in sequence.

Ok. I thought I might need a program like when doing stars and ' needing' star stack or such..
Will try it this week.

You could just use google streetview as well:

Hyperlapse - Camera moves great distances
Timelapse - Camera stays in one place (with minor movement sometimes)
