I was going through photos from my 2011 trip to Washington DC for my travel website when I came across this picture taken at the World War II Memorial on the Mall. The opposition between this veteran at the bottom and this group of tourists photographing the place struck me. They don't look at this memorial the same way, that's for sure...
I wish I had already been into photography at the time and could have capture this moment better.
