digi p&s: Kodak V705/570 vs. Casio Exilim Z1000

i already have a manual minolta film slr with a nice collection of lenses, so i am not ready ($) to convert over to digital slr, so i was looking at some point+shoots. although i would love a leica c/d-lux, i cant afford it, so i am looking at the kodak V705 (7.1MP), the V570 (5MP), and the casio exilim Z1000 (10.1 MP). These are all within the same price range.
Anybody use any of these? What is the difference between the 2 kodaks if they are the same price but have different MPs? Why is the casio so inexpensive (10.1 MP and all...)?

I am a decently experienced photographer who will be using the camera for travel/skiing/etc. Also lots of use with black+white.
