Digital Cards

Well, with my D70 (6.1 mp) I can get 358 shots on my 2 gig Sandisk Extreme II, which comes out to about 29.3 shots/mp for every gig of memory.

There are a few other factors that influence the file size. Obviously, the quality & resolution settings...but also the ISO setting and even the actual content of the photo (or so I've heard).

So there is no definitive answer, but every instruction manual for a digital camera that I have seen, has a chart that show the approximate number of shots you will get on a card of "so & so" size.

It's not hard to ball park it though...
64MB @ 2 Megapixls = 30 images etc ......

If you go on to B&H Photo, and click on a digital camera similar to the one you own (2, 3,4, 5MP..etc, etc) and click on the specifications......if you scroll through the rest of the jargon about the camera there is usually a section which will tell you how many pictures the card will hold based on the size you are shooting at , ex: sm, large, RAW.....
