Last night, I was checking to see if my pepper spray was working, or if it was clogged or anything. I sprayed a little, just to see if the nozzel was working properly. It was, so I cleaned up the floor where a little had gotten, washed my hands thoroughly, and that was that. Then when I was in bed reading, I kind of put my finger in my mouth. Not fully, just the edge of my knuckle. Its kind of an involuntary thing, however when I did, I got an unpleasant surprise. Pepper spray is oil based, not water based, so no amount of water will get it off. My mouth and lips were burning, it felt like someone was taking a cigarette lighter to them. It just kept getting worse. I ran into the bathroom and tried washing my mouth out with water to no avail. I tried tons of soap, but my mouth still hurt badly. Luckily, I found an antidote on a website: a mixture of water and dishwashing detergent. Lesson to be learned: DON'T mess around with pepper spray unless you're getting mugged. It really sucks :x.
